Story
Gymboree’s story began in 1976 when Joan Barnes, a mother from Marin County, California, tried to find a safe, fun place featuring age-appropriate activities for parents and young children to play together.
So for 2026 we're proud to be supporting Children's Activities Week! This fun and vibrant event which is an incredible celebration of what families and young people can achieve when they come together with a shared vision - to support Caudwell Children in empowering disabled and neurodivergent children and young people across the UK.
Children’s Activities Week is the UK’s biggest annual celebration of kids’ clubs, classes and activities, brought to you by What's On 4 Kids.
In line with this year's exciting theme, ‘Watch Me Fly’, we will showcase our music, movement and sensory sessions all while raising vital funds to help children reach their full potential.
Since launching, Children's Activities Week has raised over £260,000 for Caudwell Children, and we’re just getting started!
This year our aim to raise £50,000 which provides 250 sensory packs for disabled and neurodivergent children across the UK!
