GymSpace Fundraiser for Ovarian Cancer Action

GymSpace Ormskirk is raising money for Ovarian Cancer Action

GymSpace Fundraiser for Ovarian Cancer Action · 11 July 2026

In the UK, a woman dies every two hours from ovarian cancer. As the leading ovarian cancer research charity, we’re working to change that. By finding new and better ways to prevent, treat and detect ovarian cancer, we will ensure a future where no woman dies of ovarian cancer.

Story

Thank you for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.

We are raising money as part of our GymSpace Games 2026 that is taking place on 11 July 2026, where our community will come together for a high energy day of fitness, teamwork and competition.

This event is more than just fitness, it is about supporting a cause that affects thousands of women every year.

Ovarian cancer affects around 7,500 women each year in the UK, and tragically more than 4,100 lose their lives to what is often called a “silent” cancer.

Only around one third of cases are diagnosed early, when outcomes are significantly better. When caught early, survival rates can be as high as 95%. Yet over half of women are diagnosed at a later stage, when treatment options become more limited.

One of the reasons for this is that there is currently no reliable early screening test, and symptoms are often subtle or mistaken for something else.

That is why we are supporting Ovarian Cancer Action, an organisation working to improve early detection, prevention and treatment, with the ambition that by 2032, half of women will live more than ten years after diagnosis.

Behind every statistic is someone’s mother, sister, daughter, aunty or partner, and earlier diagnosis can change that story.

If you are attending our event, donating alongside your ticket would mean a great deal. If you are not taking part, you can still support the cause here.

Every contribution, big or small, makes a real difference.

For many of us, this is not abstract, it’s personal.

Thank you for your support, it is appreciated.
