Holly and Dawn’s fundraiser for The Ambulance Staff Charity

Hyrox · 28 November 2025
In August last year I was in a car accident on my way to work. The impact from the collision caused me to have two tears in my small bowel, requiring emergency surgery. Aside from some emotional, and one big physical scar, I am thankfully fully recovered. Before the accident the gym was a big part of my life and I believe that my fitness massively aided my recovery and got me back on my feet as quickly as possible. Dawn was there with me every step of the way, getting me back in the gym and gaining my confidence back again. Shortly after my return to the gym we discovered Hyrox, and it has been our obsession ever since. We are going to be racing at Hyrox in Madrid this year, it will be a massive challenge for us as we aren’t runners, we avoided pretty much any cardio before this! We have also decided that we would like to put our pain to a good cause and are asking for your donations for TASC (The Ambulance Staff Charity). We have chosen this charity because the care that the ambulance crew provided to me after my accident was incredible, and I am in awe of what they do. As healthcare professionals ourselves, we understand the emotional strain that comes with our jobs, and how essential this charity is. TASC provides a variety of support for Ambulance staff, including counselling, a crisis phone line, financial support and much more. I required two ambulance transfers after my accident and both crews were incredibly compassionate. In this very frightening moment in my life, I knew I was in safe hands. So if you can, please donate to this wonderful charity so these amazing people can continue to help other people all day, every day. And watch me and Dawn give it our best shot at Hyrox Madrid 2025!
