Story
My Why
I am taking on a Skydive to raise money for a cause that means a lot to me. As many of you know my two boys George & Henry both are diagnosed Autistic.
Jumping out of a aeroplane is definitely outside my comfort zone, I am absolutely TERRIFIED of heights but I wanted to do something that really challenges me while making a difference. ( I also think I am going through some sort of mid-life crisis).
This charity does incredible work supporting people who need it most, and every donation helps them continue their vital services to not to children but to the wider community of Shropshire.
A few examples of their work;
- Nesscliffe, Ellesmere, Wrockwardine Wood & Trench, Lawley, Ketley, Marches, The Grange Youth Club & so many more.
- Ditherington, Market Drayton Wellbeing Group
- Ditherington Stay and Play
- Activity for All - Bespoke activities for adults aged 18+ living with a learning disability in Telford.
- Wellbeing Programme for Adults with Cancer
- Hub on the Hill Wellbeing Group
- Holiday Clubs for free school meals & a wider criteria including SEN Children.
- Discounted Afterschool Clubs for SEN Children & Pupil Premium.
I have struggled to find support and help for over 4 years in the sense of clubs to give me any form of respite during the school holidays as well as give George and Henry opportunities to explore different clubs in the school week that are safe and supportive.
This is where my want to raise as much funds as possible for them to provide more opportunities for children like my boys in the local area but also provide that little bit of respite that parents so need.
If anyone knows Shrewsbury / Shropshire there is limited amount of clubs and activities that support SEN needs especially when your child needs 1-1.
Whether it's a small contribution or a larger one, every penny truly makes an impact.
Your support will not only help motivate me ( and also calm me) take the leap (quite literally!).
Thank you so much for your kindness and generosity- and for helping turn this terrifying jump into something meaningful.
