Story
Hi everyone!
I’m running the Battersea Park Half Marathon to raise funds for The Kids Network, a charity that provides one-to-one mentoring for children aged 8-11 in London. This incredible organisation helps boost kids’ confidence, resilience, and happiness during a crucial stage of their development.
My Mentoring Journey
It all started on 14th January 2023, when I met my mentee for the first time. During our first session, we worked through a “zine” booklet designed to help us get to know each other. When asked to describe herself in three words, she chose helpful, caring, and funny—and over the course of the year, I saw those qualities shine brightly.
Together, we explored London, tried new things (like bubble tea and making bracelets), and even role-played her as the CEO of a charity to “save the homeless.” Watching her grow was inspiring, I’ve learned so much—not just about mentoring but also about myself. I’ve embraced the art of playing, being present in the moment, and rediscovering the joy of simple things like dancing to K-pop in the park or sharing cookies (her favorite snack!).

Why The Kids Network Matters
The Kids Network is all about empowering little Londoners by giving them a safe space to express themselves, build connections, and develop the skills they need to thrive.
What Your Support Means
Being part of The Kids Network has taught me the power of connection and community. It’s shown me how small actions—like listening, playing, and showing up—can have a big impact on a child’s life.
As I train for the Battersea Park Half Marathon, I’m asking for your support to help amplify the voices of little Londoners and give them the tools they need to thrive.
Running this half marathon is my way of continuing to support The Kids Network and the amazing work they do. Every donation helps provide resources, training, and activities for mentors and mentees to connect, grow, and thrive.
Here’s how your contribution can make a difference:
£250 covers seven months of mentorship for one child, including activity budgets and ongoing support for both mentor and mentee.
