Story
In November 2021, our beloved Lucy made the heartbreaking decision to leave this world, leaving a void in our lives that can never be filled. She was an extraordinarily caring funny soul, and her absence will be deeply felt forever.
On 28th April 2025 Lucy should have been celebrating her 21st Birthday. This is going to be a heart breaking day for us all, and as a way to focus our minds and reflect on the amazing person she was, we have decided to mark this occasion by switching high heels for hiking boots and walk Hadrian’s Wall, a 90 mile trek from Bowness on Solway to Tynemouth, west to east from coast to coast. So, starting on the 30th April for 6 consecutive days myself, Hannah, Alex, Gabi & Tina plan to cover 21km a day to raise vital funding and awareness for PAPYRUS, the national charity devoted to the prevention of young suicide.
Our aim… to help prevent this most awful tragedy from taking more unnecessary lives and knowing that this is something Lucy would want us to do.
PAPYRUS is the national charity for the Prevention of Young Suicide.
Suicide is the biggest killer of young people under the age of 35 in the UK, every year over 1800 young people take their own lives. PAPYRUS provides confidential support and advice to young people struggling with thoughts of suicide, and anyone worried about a young person through their helpline, HOPELINE247.
Every £10 raised can contribute towards a life-saving contact to HOPELINE247. Your donations really are changing lives, thank you.
