Half-Marathon for MyPas

Christopher Craig is raising money for MYPAS

Edinburgh Marathon Festival 2026 - Half Marathon · 24 May 2026 ·

At MYPAS our vision is simple: to provide health and wellbeing support to young people aged 10-21. Children and young people seek support from MYPAS for a variety of reasons. We offer School Counselling, Community Counselling, Art Therapy, Drug and Alcohol Support and LGBT+ Support.

Story

My name is Chris and I’m a teacher at Dalkeith High School. I was a Pupil Support Leader for six years and during this time, I supported the health and well-being of many young people. More and more young people are struggling with the pressures of today’s society and they need help! Doing the job was a real challenge at the best of times but one of the biggest barriers to supporting our young people was a lack of resources. Schools and other services for young people lack the funds needed to adequately support some our most vulnerable young people. I am running the Edinburgh Half-Marathon with my wife on Sunday 24th May 2026. This will be the first race that we have entered together and I would like to donate any funds raised to MYPAS (SC029543), an organisation which supports the young people in my school community.

Young people are supported by MYPAS in a number of ways: School Counselling, Community Counselling, Art Therapy, Drug and Alcohol Support and LGBT+ Support. It is only through regular generosity of donors and funders, that they will be able to reach more vulnerable young people in need throughout Midlothian and East Lothian.

Thank you for your support.
