Story
This marathon represents so much more than a race for me. In my early childhood, I bounced between homes in the foster system, and sports became the one constant I could rely on. Soccer was my refuge, a place where I felt seen, capable, and grounded when the rest of life felt uncertain.
After college, when that sense of direction faded, I found myself searching for purpose again. Running became my way forward. What started as a coping mechanism became a source of healing, growth, and self-belief, reminding me that movement and sports have always been my anchor through change.
To now run a World Marathon Major through the streets of Sydney, alongside tens of thousands of runners, while raising funds for The True Athlete Project is something I’m incredibly grateful for. This journey is about giving more young people access to the mentorship, mental wellbeing support, and sense of belonging that sports gave me.
Thank you for being part of this with me and for helping TAP continue to use sports as a pathway to resilience, compassion, and lasting positive change.
