Story
Autoimmune conditions are brutal.
There is no sugar-coating it.
An invisible, enigmatic menace that can take over your life without warning, often without a trigger.
Joints stiff.
Muscles in agony.
Bones brittle.
Fatigue indescribable.
Mental health affected.
The future uncertain.
The condition hidden.
And still, somehow, we persevere.
2026 marks ten years since I, Hanna, was diagnosed with connective tissue disease, an overlap of Lupus, Rheumatoid Arthritis, and Sjögren’s syndrome. To mark the occasion, Zion and I have signed up for the London Landmarks Half Marathon, because apparently our pain thresholds haven’t been tested enough.
Who knows what condition we’ll be in on April 12th, so take the word “running” with a pinch of salt.
Whether it’s a run, a walk, a hop, or a crawl, we’re doing it.
We’re raising money for F.A.I.R, one of the very few charities that recognises the complexity of autoimmune conditions and works tirelessly to find answers for sufferers and their loved ones.
If you can donate, we’d be incredibly grateful.
If you can’t, please share.
Wish us luck 🏃🏾♀️🏃🏾♂️
