I'm joining #TeamKidney and taking part in the Royal Parks Half Marathon on Sunday 11 October 2026.

There are around 7.2 million people living with kidney disease in the UK, treatments can be gruelling and currently there is no cure. Only research will end this and nobody can do it but Kidney Research UK, by offering kidney patients and their families hope for the future.

Kidney disease isn’t just something I’ve heard about—it’s something my family has lived through. People I love have faced major operations, long recoveries, and the reality of ongoing medical care that never truly ends.

I dream of a different future. One where kidney disease is no longer a life-changing diagnosis. Where those who need transplants receive kidneys designed specifically for them—eliminating the need for lifelong immunosuppressants and constant treatment.

That future isn’t as far away as it might seem. Researchers are working tirelessly every day to turn this vision into reality—but they can’t do it alone.
