Story
I am running Worcester 10k on September 14th in aid of the children’s oncology clinic at Worcester hospital.
The clinic here is a truly special place, with a team of doctors and nurses that go above and beyond. Throughout Noah’s treatment, there was so many special events and treats arranged for the children and their families, which was a massive distraction from treatment. The money also supports families with parking tickets, fruit vouchers and presents/ book vouchers/ end of treatment cake/halloween, Xmas and Easter parties!/panto tickets/festival tickets. All children facing this horrible disease deserve all of the lovely things, because they are incredible.
This is a bit of a challenge for me, as I am not a runner!!! Running on the netball court is different! I don’t think, I have ever even ran 5k… but, I am motivated by my amazing boy, and all the children we have met on the way. It is a privilege to be able to run for them.
Worcester City Runs is a highlight of the Worcestershire events calendar, growing in size and popularity every year.
This year, Team Worcestershire Acute is made up of patients, their families and friends, hospital staff and members of the local community.
Every step they take will make a real difference for patients, their loved ones, and the incredible NHS staff across Worcestershire’s acute hospitals.
