Story
In just a few days, I’ll be running my very first marathon … at THE London Marathon no less … and I am absolutely terrified (and also trying to be an equal amount excited). I promise I’ve done the training, but it still feels like a huge, daunting challenge.
I was incredibly lucky to get a place through the ballot, but I also want to make sure I use this opportunity to do something meaningful!
After considering how to best do that I’ve realised that what I would most like to do is use this to support people in my local community who are facing some of the toughest circumstances and most difficult times of their lives.
That’s why I am fundraising for Wandsworth Foodbank.
They provide emergency food and essential toiletries to local people, but also offer a warm welcome, a safe space, and access to practical advice and support, so no one has to feel alone during difficult times.
People visit the food bank at some of the hardest moments in their lives, and I hope my family and friends can do a little to help make a real difference.
Last year, Wandsworth Foodbank provided 13,054 emergency food parcels to people and families across the borough.
If you’re able to, I would be so grateful if you could give what you can. Thank you so much for your support, it truly means a lot and will keep me going on Sunday!!
Lots of love,
Hannah xx
