Hannah's fundraiser for Combat Stress

24k Brecon Beacons Trail Run · 9 August 2025
For those that have known me a long time know I do some silly challenges to raise money for different charities and I thought it was time for a new challenge.
As paramedics we deal with a lot of patients suffering from a number of mental health issues, some of which have been military veterans. There are so many veterans battling alcohol problems, homelessness and mental health problems and sometimes you can feel you can’t do enough to help. So I thought I would put my energy into raising some money.
I have chosen to raise money for Combat Stress, a leading charity specifically for military veterans with severe mental health issues. In the emergency services and NHS we have so many ex forces staff and attend many MH incidents involving military vets it is something I am passionate about and would like to raise both awareness and money for them
I have entered the Brecon Beacons 24k and intend on doing this in full uniform carrying out BLS bag weighing approx 10 kg.
Any donation would be appreciated. Hopefully will raise both some money and some awareness into the complex issues many face.
For over a century, they’ve helped former servicemen and women deal with trauma-related mental health problems such as anxiety, depression and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD).
They’re on a mission to raise awareness that invisible injuries can be just as hard to cope with as physical ones. So when a veteran is having a tough time, they’re there to help them tackle the past and take on the future.
