Story
I have chosen to take on this challenge to remember my very special friend, Sharon Pratt. Sharon sadly lost her battle in 2024. Sharon was a beautiful person inside and out. We shared a love of bowls and played many games together, from this we became great friends.
One in two of us will get cancer during our lifetime and it does not discriminate who is affected. By taking part in this 26mile walk I am hoping to raise money to go towards The Royal Marsden Cancer Charity. They supported and provided treatment for Sharon and have provided treatment to other loved ones.
The Royal Marsden Cancer Charity aims to raise money to improve the lives of people affected by cancer. They ensure The Royal Marsden’s world-leading nurses, doctors and research teams can provide the very best care and develop life-saving treatments, which are used across the UK and around the world.
From funding state-of-the-art equipment and groundbreaking research, to creating the very best patient environments, we will never stop looking for ways to improve the lives of people affected by cancer.
