Story
Less than 80% of children in Malawi have foundational literacy and numeracy capabilities. This statistic is worse for those with disabilities, out of which only around 30% actually attend formal education to be presented with the opportunity to develop those foundational literacy and numeracy capabilities. In our experience this lack of participation is due to a lack of equitable access to education, and certainly not due to a lack of drive on the children's behalf. We want to provide funds to the communities impacted so that they can develop solutions which work for them and leave them with a sense of ownership over the end result. In this case we are hoping for a new generation of Malawians, empowered through education.
