London Marathon 2026 · 26 April 2026 ·

Manx Mencap was established in 1968 and is a long-standing charity dedicated to the support and wellbeing of people with learning disabilities. We are dedicated to improving opportunities and health outcomes for our community. We support our members in achieving their goals, maintaining their wellbeing, and becoming active members of their local communities.

Story

I'm fundraising for Manx Mencap, a charity that's very close to my heart. Through my job working with children with learning disabilities, I've seen first-hand the importance of inclusion, understanding and the right support.

Manx Mencap plays a vital role on the Isle of Man by supporting children and adults with learning disabilities and their families. The charity works to promote equality, improve access to services and create opportunities for people to learn, socialise, and thrive within their community. They also campaign to raise awareness and break down barriers so that everyone can live a full and valued life.

I'm passionate about helping to make our island a more inclusive and supportive place for everyone. Every donation, no matter how small, will help Manx Mencap continue their amazing work - providing opportunities, building confidence and celebrating the abilities of every individual.

In 2026, I'll be taking on the incredible challenge of running the London Marathon - my very first marathon - as part of a personal "couch to marathon" journey! Although I've never run a marathon before, it's something I've always wanted to achieve. Running for Manx Mencap makes this challenge even more meaningful to me. It's not just about crossing the finish line. It's about raising awareness, championing inclusion and supporting children and adults with disabilities. The children I work with will be my greatest motivation throughout this journey. Their resilience, determination and joy in overcoming challenges inspire me every day, and I hope to channel that same spirit and strength as I take on this marathon.

Thank you so much for your support.
