Story
On 20th September 2026, I'll be taking on the Cheltenham Half Marathon to raise money for Cheltenham Guardians Safeguarding Team.
Cheltenham Guardians has been safeguarding women and girls in Cheltenham's night-time economy since 2015. Every weekend, a team of volunteers are out on the streets providing a visible, reassuring presence, helping vulnerable people get home safely, offering support when it's needed most, and running the Nightcare Hub as a safe space for women. Through their proactive safeguarding work and the India Protocol, they've supported thousands of people and helped make Cheltenham a safer place for everyone. It's a cause I genuinely believe in and am incredibly proud to support.
Now, anyone who knows me will appreciate the scale of this challenge. Running 13.1 miles wasn't exactly sitting at the top of my vision board. In fact, if you'd asked me a few months ago whether I'd voluntarily run that far, I'd probably have laughed.
Yet here we are!
So over the next few months I'll be swapping excuses for trainers, convincing my legs that running is actually a reasonable hobby, and attempting to transform myself into someone who can run for more than the length of a Tesco car park in the rain, without questioning every life choice I've ever made.
If you'd like to support me (or simply reward what is clearly a temporary lapse in judgement), I'd be hugely grateful for any donation, big or small.
Every penny goes towards supporting the work of Cheltenham Guardians, and every donation will help keep me moving when my brain starts suggesting that stopping for a snack is a perfectly valid race strategy.
Please donate—I've got 13.1 miles of negotiations to have with my legs.
