This year I am running the Leeds Half Marathon for Simon on the Streets. I was first introduced to the charity when working as an events coordinator and had the pleasure of organising 3 of their corporate networking events. Since moving jobs I’ve committed to supporting the charity by attending their monthly corporate socials and helping raising awareness about the charity.

Simon on the Streets are an independent charity whose core mission is ‘Providing hope to those without a voice.’ The charity has been supporting those rough sleeping, sofa surfing and at risk of homelessness in Leeds and Bradford for 25 years.

The charities emotional and practical outreach support is not time limited and ensures their work can be tailored to the individual for as long as that person needs, whether this be support around accessing accommodation, linking into primary healthcare for their physical and mental health, or working with addiction services or specialists in trauma informed care.

Simon on the Streets support a range of people with complex needs, from rough sleepers to sofa surfers and those -vulnerably housed.
