Story

On Saturday 5 September 2026, a group of Torrin’s friends will be taking on the 11-mile Marie Curie Beat the Trail Gower walk in his memory.

Throughout his own illness and treatment, Torrin took part in sponsored walks to raise money and support others. Even during such a difficult time, he was always thinking of how he could make a difference and help those around him. We wanted to honour that incredible kindness by continuing his legacy and taking on our own challenge in support of a charity that meant so much to him.

Marie Curie provided invaluable care and support to Torrin and his family when life was at its toughest. Their nurses helped him stay at home for longer, surrounded by the people he loved, while offering comfort, compassion and reassurance to both Torrin and his family every step of the way.

By supporting this walk, you’ll be helping Marie Curie continue to provide that same compassionate care to other families when they need it most.

All the money raised will help Marie Curie provide vital care and support to people living with a terminal illness, and their families at the toughest time.

£3 helps fund a meal for a patient in one of our hospices.

£26 helps help fund an hour of bereavement support by phone or webchat.

Thank you for helping us celebrate Torrin’s life, honour his generosity, and continue the legacy of helping others that he cared so deeply about.
