600km Run Challenge · 1 November 2023

Sandy Bear exists to support children, young people and families in the lead up to or following the death of someone close to them. Our work ensures that no child grieves alone, and that they have space to understand and to develop resilience and overcome adversity.

Story

Hi everyone,

We have decided to take on the 600km run challenge and the 4 of us are determined to raise money, push boundaries and hit the road morning, night, rain and shine for Sandy Bears running 150km EACH!

Our team taking on this Challenge is Hannah Jones from Ascona's Legal Department and Geoff Harding, Max Peterson and James Cronesberry from their Fuel Department. Each will be running a minimum of 150km each and would love everyone to get behind them and raise money for this amazing charity just before Christmas.

For some children and young people, the death of a loved one will turn their world upside down in an instant. Sandy Bear Children's Bereavement Charity is dedicated to helping children between 0-18 to strengthen their emotional health and well-being, aiming to reduce emotional difficulties in childhood and the prevalence of mental illness in later life that can result in a decreased quality of life, poorer educational attainment, social and health problems and increased vulnerability.
