Story
It would have been my wonderful Dad’s 80th birthday on March 15th this year. In honour of his birthday I’m going to hopefully succeed in running 80km by 15th March.
My challenge starts on Monday 29th January. I only started running again in September after what feels like a long, long time so running approximately 12km a week is going to be a big challenge, especially when it’s thrown in the mix of a working/school week. I'm not a fast runner but I do enjoy it once I’m out!
Dad had so much love to give and was so incredibly generous and always wanted to help others. My heart tells me he would want to help families who are struggling to feed their children and family, when daily essentials are so expensive.
1 in 5 of the UK population live below the poverty line. 2023 was this charity's busiest year to date. They have opened eight food banks across the day to help over 1000 households and distributed over 11,000 emergency food parcels.
While completing this challenge I’d love to raise some money for this amazing charity and one which I feel would be honouring Dad’s compassion and generosity.
