Story
Gloucestershire Breastfeeding Support Network is an amazing charity who support breastfeeding mothers. Breastfeeding has been one of the most challenging elements of becoming a new mother but also one of the most rewarding. I wouldn’t have been able to continue this journey without the ongoing support of GBSN. I have been attending the groups since my daughter was 1 week old, having just lost 15% of her body weight, a tongue tie and unfortunately very little support from an overwhelmed NHS system.
GBSN needs £40,000 a year to run and is entirely reliant on fundraising & grants. They receive £0 from the NHS or government. They provide group sessions every day of the week in and around Gloucestershire. They also provide zoom workshops and 1:1 sessions for mothers with their support workers.
Whilst all donations go into their general funds, to give you some ideas of our costs:
£100 covers one face-to-face group for one week
£60 covers one Preparation for Breastfeeding Zoom Workshop
£10 covers one 1:1 video call
I will be walking the Welsh Three Peaks on 22nd July alongside some good friends of mine in order to fundraise for GBSN. If you could give even a few £’s to this amazing charity it would mean the world!
