My Second Year For Walk For Endo!
I'm walking 8,000 steps everyday in July for endo this July to support the 1 in 10 with the disease, who wait on average a shocking 8 years to receive a diagnosis in the UK!
That's too long!
I consider myself as a lucky one, who struggled and doubted my pains from 16, until I decided I’d had enough and it was time to get this sorted!
Roughly for 4 years of endless doctor’s appointments and wrong directions to get my diagnosis and then having my laparoscopy surgery in March 2023 to remove my endometriosis. It was a bittersweet moment. I finally felt heard and all those times in pain I felt validated. But over a year on from surgery, I am still being sent on goose chases to get answers.
But with that bittersweet moment comes with - this will be with me forever.
Endometriosis UK relies heavily on donations to support their work which consists of volunteer led support services including a helpline, web chat and face to face support groups, information provision, awareness raising as well as campaigning and lobbying for change and better treatment options.
