The 2026 Walk 500 for Nystagmus Network

The 2026 Walk 500

Nystagmus means involuntary movements of the eye. It impairs vision, affecting focus and depth perception. At least 1 in 1,000 babies are born with nystagmus. There is currently no cure. The Nystagmus Network is a UK registered charity which provides support, raises awareness and funds research.

Story

In 2026, I’ll be taking on a huge personal challenge: walking 500 miles with a group of family and friends to raise money for Nystagmus Network. Our journey will include multiple long-distance walks and challenges, including climbing Snowdon, and plenty of miles in between.

This cause is incredibly close to my heart. I recently underwent null point correction surgery, which has been life-changing and successful. Throughout my journey with nystagmus, Nystagmus Network has been a source of support, information and reassurance — helping me feel less alone and more understood.

Taking on this challenge is my way of giving something back. Every mile I walk is a thank you to the charity that supports people living with nystagmus and raises awareness of a condition that is still widely misunderstood.

If you’re able to donate, share, or cheer us on, it would mean the world. Your support will help Nystagmus Network continue their vital work supporting individuals, families and professionals.

Thank you for being part of this journey 💛

The 2026 Walk 500 is proudly in partnership with Rawlings Opticians and Hearing Care and we thank the team for their ongoing support of our challenge and the charity.
