Story
Hannah Clarke, Employment Adviser in Scarborough, is taking on an incredible ultra-marathon challenge in October 2026, aiming to inspire others while making a positive impact in her local community.
An ultra-marathon is any race longer than the traditional marathon distance of 26.2 miles (42.2 km). The ultra-Marathon trail Hannah is running is a total of 34.3 Miles (55.4km). Taking on such an event requires immense physical and mental strength, months of dedicated training, and an unwavering commitment to achieving a goal.
For Hannah, this challenge is about much more than running. It is a personal journey of self-belief, discipline, and proving that with determination and focus, anything is possible.
Hannah Says "You can achieve great things in life if you put your mind to it."
This message is something Hannah hopes will resonate with everyone, including the participants she supports through her role. By pushing herself beyond her comfort zone, she wants to demonstrate that ambitious goals can be achieved through consistent work, perseverance, and resilience.
Training for an ultra-marathon is no small undertaking. Hannah is currently following a demanding 26-week training plan, running up to 80 kilometres each week and training five times a week. Many of these runs take place before work, with Hannah sacrificing a significant amount of her personal time to prepare for the challenge.
While this achievement is a personal milestone, Hannah has also chosen to use the opportunity to raise money for The Rainbow Centre, Scarborough, a local charity that provides vital support and services to people within the community. Hannah has already encouraged the charity to register with The Big Give, helping to maximise fundraising opportunities and support for their important work.
Hannah has the full support of her colleagues across the Scarborough office, who will be cheering her on and waving flags as she crosses the finish line. She is now inviting others to get involved by supporting her fundraising efforts and sponsoring her on this remarkable journey.
Every donation, no matter the size, will help support The Rainbow Centre and motivate Hannah as she works towards completing one of the toughest challenges of her life.
Good luck, Hannah. Your determination, commitment, and positive attitude are already inspiring those around you.
