Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
As many of you will know, Patrick was our incredible stepfather.
Patrick came into our lives when he met our mum and he embraced us and raised us as if he was our own father. We have been incredibly lucky to have 4 parents in our lives who gave us an extraordinary childhood, which helped shape us into the people we are today.
A bit about Patrick and why we have chosen this charity. Patrick was born in 1956, to Pauline & Peter Frazer. he was followed by 2 sisters. Despite being born preterm he excelled academically, attending Christ's College & then Queen's College Cambridge where he graduated with a degree in English.
Patrick fell in love with the theatre whilst at school and after graduating he worked in the theatre for the rest of his professional life, racking up an impressive CV (& collecting many a very funny story along the way). He started in Northern Ireland Children's Theatre, working in the midst of the Troubles, moving back to London where he went to the Lyric Theatre in Hammersmith working as an assistant stage manager.
After becoming self employed he moved onto production management, taking companies like the Kirov Opera, Dublin Grand Opera & the Royal Shakespeare Company on tour - not just in the UK, but wordwide. He managed festivals in Ludlow and ended his impressive career by being headhunted to become the Head of Technical Courses at LAMDA & the RSC.
Pat adored the theatre, he loved its magic and story telling. He took us to shows as often as he could, first night shows in the West End, wandering around back stage at world famous theatres, meeting famous actors and theatre professionals, having the KGB turn up at our house - all of this was normal for us as children!
So in honour of his passing, we would love to raise some money for The Theatrical Guild, a UK charity supporting Backstage and Front of House staff, with over 130 years of service. They provide financial support, mid-career training, counselling & therapy and welfare advice for those who work in this incredible field.
& yes that is an original Lord Litchfield photograph of him!
