I am running the 10k on the 10th May for Children in Care in Bristol. We have approximately 800 children living in the care of the authority at any one point, and a further 800 care leavers - and many more with care experience.

These children have faced some of the biggest challenges it's possible to face in life and it's our role to give them the best opportunities we can. In so doing we're not only improving their chances of a positive future but making sure they can enjoy their childhood - the most important thing we can possibly do.

I am running with a few others from Bristol City Council and am grateful to my colleagues for supporting this brilliant cause.

I have just turned 50 and my running is neither regular nor fast! so this will be a challenge - your support will help me to reach the end and feel like it's been worthwhile. Thankyou!
