Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
In July 2014 I was diagnoaed with Hodgkins Lymphoma, noone puts cancer on any kind of life plan especially when in your early thirties!
I never seem to choose the easy route, where would the fun in that be. I was the rare statistic who was chemo resistant, lucky me. So in July 2015 following all my chemo I had a stem cell transplant to keep me in remission.
Sadly the bugger came back in July 2017, clearly it hadn't been enough fun the first time! Following some immunotherapy and radiation I got to remission in 2018.
Life changes with a cancer diagnosis and it can be a lonely experience at times. It impacts a whole host of things body image, careers, relationahips, finances, dating and much more.
I found Shine Cancer Support an amazing charity who help adults in their 20s, 30s and 40s in Feb 2018. The best thing I ever did I found people who got it, no justification just honest conversation often with much laughter and dark humour. I have met some totally awesome humans and whilst its not a club any of us choose to join this is one awesome perk! I now run the Manchester network in a voluntary capacity and assist in the delivery and education of the programmes we deliver.
I am one of the lucky ones still here to tell my story. I still have an extensive part time hobby of hospital, it's time consuming and the pay is rubbish! In recognition of my 10 year anniversary I am Stepping Up For Shine and walking 300,000 steps this September. Wish me luck!
I will keep you updated on my progress and my 4 legged friend Alfie will be supporting me for some of those steps! 🐾 🐾.
Any small donation would be much appreciated. Thank you in advance.
Much love Hannah ❤️
