Story
Sienna and I are running the London Marathon in aid of Cure Leukaemia!
As many of you know, my son Keanu was diagnosed with acute myeloid leukaemia (AML) in April 2020. Keanu had gone for a blood test after feeling unwell, and that same evening we received a knock on the door telling us we needed to take him to hospital immediately. In that moment, our lives changed forever.
The very next day, Keanu began chemotherapy. After an intense first round of treatment in hospital, he was allowed home for 10 days - I remember these being the best days, all together as a family. He then returned for his next round of treatment, completing four rounds of chemotherapy in total.
Keanu’s last day in hospital fell on his 13th birthday, in October 2020. Thanks to the incredible care he received and the continuing advancements in treatment, Keanu has now celebrated his 18th birthday and is in five years of remission!
Please can everyone donate - no donation is too small. Without the support of charities like Cure Leukaemia, Keanu and so many others might not be here today. There is still a long way to go, as sadly many others do not make it to remission.
Thank you all so much for your kindness and support.
Lots of love,
Hannah & Sienna
