Story
Hannah and Ste are taking on Race for a Reason in support of Alfie’s Squad, combining an exciting adventure with a cause that is incredibly close to their hearts.
They are taking part in memory of Ste’s dad, who sadly died by suicide. Through this challenge, they hope to honour his memory, raise awareness of mental health and suicide prevention, and encourage more open and honest conversations.
They also want to show their support for individuals and families who have experienced the heartbreak of losing someone to suicide. By speaking openly, Hannah and Ste hope to help challenge the stigma surrounding mental health and help ensure that bereaved children and young people do not have to face their grief alone.
Funds raised through Race for a Reason will support Alfie’s Squad’s specialist peer-support groups, helping children and young people affected by suicide bereavement connect with others, overcome isolation and receive vital support.
As keen lovers of the outdoors, Hannah and Ste are happiest exploring, adventuring and heading off on trips in their VW van, so Race for a Reason feels like the perfect challenge for them. They are incredibly proud to be taking part alongside Alfie’s Squad for such an important cause and they cannot wait to get started.
