Yep, that's right - I'm going to be jumping out of a plane, 15,000ft in the sky and freefalling at 120mph 😅 I didn't feel particularly scared about it until typing this...

But it's a challenge I want to take on. Since working at Cavendish, I've witnessed so many amazing fundraising challenges, people fundraising in memory of loved ones, to give back and to support others going through similar situations. Now it's my turn!

Back in 2020 whilst undergoing chemotherapy - therapists from Cavendish would come on to the ward and offer reiki, massage and shiatsu - and as much as I didn't really know much about the service at the time, it has always stuck with me and it broke up long, 10 hours sessions of chemo.

Once I'd started working at Cavendish in 2021, I'd been all clear for over a year, but this didn't stop the fear and paranoia of cancer returning. I would often have stomach pains and reach straight out to my oncologist, only to find they were just ordinary pains. The worry was getting in the way of my day to day life, so I then referred myself through Cavendish, and received hypnotherapy to help with this worry - and it worked absolute wonders.

Having first hand experience of a cancer diagnosis and of benefitting from Cavendish's services makes my job a hell of a lot easier, because I couldn't sing higher praises of the work that Cavendish do.

So please support Cavendish and the next person to walk through their doors: every pound will make that 15,000ft jump a little bit easier 😅🧡
