Story

Hey Friend! Thanks for visiting my fundraising page!

TLDR: In 2026 and 2027 I will be doing a number of challenges to raise money for Climbers Against Cancer.

CAC is a small charity that works closely with The British Mountaineering Council. Money raised will support their work in the realm of helping deliver activities that can help sufferers and their families cope emotionally and physically with the challenges of living with and beyond a cancer diagnosis and treatment as well as research into prevention, causes and treatments of the disease.

In 2021 my wonderful mum died after a 14 year fight against cancer, as well as having close family members and friends currently battling or recovering from the big C, I'm putting my knees to the test with three different objectives:

August 2026 - L'Etape du Tour Femmes / Cycling 112km and taking on 3000m of climbing up Mont Ventoux

October 2026 - Kielder Half Marathon / Running alongside Clare to celebrate her delivering a big F-U to cancer.

April 2027 - London Marathon / I said I would do one marathon in my life, and it's here. London, the full whack, and a huge challenge to this non-runner with absolutely zero time on her hands.

Mum was not a runner, she was a passionate cyclist and lover of being in the mountains. She has fostered in me a competitive streak, and a stubborn force of will - let's hope that comes to the fore in the next 9 months.

I would appreciate all and any support - whether it's emotional, physical (hello physio team!!) or financial.

Cancer has huge impacts on people's lives, whether you've lived it, supported someone through it, or felt the grief of losing someone to it. I hope my small drop in the ocean makes it easier for someone, somewhere on that journey.
