Story
Our vision is that society fully accepts and includes people with Ds. We support families and people with Ds to reach their fullest potential by providing a range of services, influencing public policy and by changing attitudes. We urgently need funding to help families who are struggling right now.
Join Team Happy Feet T-21s as we stride, pedal, and run our way through 34 miles (55 kilometres) to champion Down Syndrome awareness and raise funds for Down Syndrome Scotland (DSS).
We are a group of 10 Edinburgh families, all united by the shared experience of having a child with Down Syndrome. We found our community at The Very Inclusive Play Club, a vital hub for support, education, and social connection for families with children who have additional needs.
Our journey with Down Syndrome is a deeply personal rollercoaster, filled with incredible highs and challenging lows. When the ride gets tough, DSS is right there to support our families. This event is our chance to give back. By participating in RunAcross UK, we’re raising funds for this incredible charity and opening up the conversation about what life with Down Syndrome truly looks like.
We will complete two key sections of the route:
• Halbeath Train Station to Edinburgh St Andrews Square
• West Linton Gordon Arms Hotel to Peebles Victoria Park
