Story
Get ready for the event of the summer! The Charity Clay Shoot & Family Fun Day is coming to town on Sunday, August 6th, and it's all in aid of The Air Ambulance - a vital service that saves countless lives every day.
This year's event promises to be bigger and better than ever before, with something for everyone to enjoy. First up, we have the incredible Derwent Valley Gundog Display Team, who will be showcasing their talents throughout the day. These skilled trainers and their loyal dogs will leave you in awe with their incredible hunting and retrieving abilities.
If you're feeling adventurous, why not try your hand at clay pigeon shooting? We'll have three Have A Go stands, complete with expert instructors and all the necessary equipment - fully sponsored and run by BASC (British Association for Shooting & Conservation). Plus, we’re hosting a 75-bird sporting competition, shooting for The Sean Smith Trophy, so you can put your skills to the test and compete against other shooters.
And let's not forget about the refreshments! We're proud to have Blue Monkey Brewery and Gin Muddler's Gin Bar on hand to provide delicious drinks for everyone. Whether you prefer a cold pint or a crisp G&T, we've got you covered. Plus hot food will be available in our shoot cabin.
But that's not all - we've got plenty of other activities to keep you entertained throughout the day. There will be various raffles and an auction, so you'll have the chance to win some fantastic prizes.
But most importantly, this event is all about raising funds for The Air Ambulance - a crucial service that saves lives every day.
The Air Ambulance Service operates the local air ambulance services for Warwickshire & Northamptonshire and Derbyshire, Leicestershire & Rutland as well as the national paediatric and neonatal transfer service, the Children’s Air Ambulance, covering the whole of the UK.
The Air Ambulance Service does not receive funding from the government for its daily missions. It relies entirely on voluntary donations and support from our communities and business
Your support will help keep them flying.
