On June 15th, 2025, I will be cycling 55 miles from London to Brighton in memory of my nephew, Talvin Khaira, who tragically passed away 2 years ago. I'm taking on this challenge to raise funds for the Positive Youth Foundation (PYF) in Coventry.

PYF have been working in the Coventry area for almost 30 years, supporting young people who suffer from a number of poverty related challenges, focusing on building positive futures and outcomes for them. They do this through the provision of intensive frontline services to young people through programmes relating to education, employment and training, healthy and safe lifestyles, arts and culture, and social action.

This is a really worthwhile cause that echoes Talvin's spirit, energy and love for uplifting others.

About Talvin

Talvin was truly one of a kind- a social butterfly who lit up every room he walked into. He had a huge heart, an unstoppable "can-do" attitude, and a rare gift of making everyone around him smile. Whether he was earning his black belt in taekwondo, studying dentistry, learning to DJ, running half marathons, or generally being goofy, Talvin did it all with enthusiasm, resilience and a deep love for life.

Since his passing, family and friends have been determined to carry on his legacy by raising funds for causes that reflect his values- helping others, spreading joy, and bringing people together. From 3 peaks challenge, 10K runs and mindfulness hikes, every step we've taken has been in Talvin's memory- and with his smile in our hearts.

Why the Positive Youth Foundation?

Talvin believed in lifting others up and would've stood proudly beside this cause. PYF supports young people to achieve their potential through music, sport, education and personal development- all things that resonated deeply with Talvin's own passions and journey.
