As we have all we need, we are asking people to donate to charities that are close to our hearts instead of buying us gifts.
Buwan Kothi International Trust was founded by my uncle Gilly Mundy in 2006, Gilly passed away tragically in 2007 at the age of 36. The charity then started to fundraise to build a school in memory of Gilly. My wonderful grandad Mota Singh along with others, worked tirelessly to make this happen, and in 2008 the Gilly Mundy Memorial Community School opened in Lehran, India. Buwan Kothi International Trust (BKIT) UK, is the main sponsor of the GMMCS and aims to fill a gap in supporting rural education.
The school now has hundreds of children attending, from 20 different villages and ranges from nursery right up to year 13 education.
