Story
As part of Gems Shining Lights, we will be walking the first quarter of the Jurassic Coast Ultra Challenge (25k) on 16th May.
We are raising money in memory of beautiful Gemma who sadly passed away 30th July 2023, a few days after her 25th birthday.
Gemma was diagnosed with a rare form of soft tissue cancer (Synovial Sarcoma) in September 2020.
Gemma was a kind, fun and a special friend to us all. Her smile and laugh would light up any room.
Please donate if you can.
Young Lives vs Cancer is a charity that helps children, young people and their families across the UK understand and cope with the emotional, practical and financial burdens that come with a cancer diagnosis. Did you know that…
· £9 could mean a parent could take their child to chemotherapy and not have to worry about the costs of petrol and parking.
· £26 could pay for an hour of a Social Workers time. Whether they organise grants for the family or are there to offer a listening ear, our wonderfully dedicated Social workers are there from the moment a child or young person is diagnosed with cancer.
· £70 could pay for a family to stay overnight in one of Young Lives vs Cancer’s Homes from Home, providing free self-catering accommodation near to specialist children’s cancer treatment centres, which are often many miles from a family’s own home.
