I am fundraising for the amazing Opening Doors, the only national charity specialising in supporting LGBTQ+ people over 50.

They need to raise £120,000 by spring next year, or face the unthinkable - the possibility of closing down entirely. The vital lifeline they offer to older LGBTQ+ people hang in the balance, so I'm raising money when they need us most.

Most people close to me will know that I volunteer for this charity every week as a telefriending volunteer. I see first-hand the impact that this charity has and I would be heart broken to see this organisation have to close down.

Their mission is to ensure that no older LGBTQ+ person ever feels alone, isolated, or without support. Every year they provide a safe space for over 2,500 older LGBTQ+ people to connect, share their stories, and access vital services.
