Story
I'm raising money for Sight Support HEY to support the fantastic work they do for visually impaired people in our region.
I became a Trustee of the charity this year and have seen first hand how much the charity means to its service users and their families.
Imagine waking up tomorrow and you can't see anymore.
No warning and no time to prepare. Just suddenly having to figure out how to get dressed, make a cup of tea, leave the house and continue to live your life.
Sight Support Hull and East Yorkshire help people to rebuild their independence and confidence after sight loss. They provide practical advice, specialist equipment, rehabilitation and ongoing support at what can be one of the most frightening times in someone’s life.
They’re a small, local charity and they rely heavily on donations and fundraising to offer services and support.
To do my bit, I’ve signed up for the Great North Run 🫣
I am not a runner. My first jog around the block was in November 2025 and I genuinely questioned all my life choices in those moments. But now I’m training for 13.1 miles!
It’s completely out of my comfort zone and not something I ever thought I would do.
If you can donate, I’d be so grateful. Every pound will help someone locally adjust to sight loss and regain their independence.
Thank you for supporting me (and my very questionable running ability).
