We are running together to raise money in memory of Maddy Lawrence, a university friend of Harriet’s.

Harriet and Maddy originally met at primary school and reconnected several years later at university in Bristol, where they spent a lot of time together exploring their new home.

Maddy was bright, loving and sporty. She had a huge passion for rugby and played for the UWE women’s team.

Maddy sadly passed away in March 2022, aged just 20, after suffering from a rugby injury. Despite a courageous fight in hospital, Maddy tragically died of sepsis, two weeks after her injury.

Maddy’s Mark is a charity organisation established to remember Maddy Lawrence and raise funds in her name to promote positive mental health and wellbeing in young women, through the sport of rugby.

To support this cause that is close to our hearts, we are running together in the Great South Run.
