Story
My Mum (Dawn Roberts) was diagnosed with Stage 4 Gastric Cancer in March 2024, which resulted in a palliative prognosis and heartbreakingly she passed away a month later.
For us, mum was and still is nothing short of perfect. Her generosity unmatched, unbelievably intelligent, creative and thoughtful. She taught us to always look forward in life and not with regret.
Mum spent her final two weeks at Dougie Mac Hospice. I feel so grateful to have been selected to represent Dougie Mac at the 2025 London Marathon , and being able to run alongside my brother in her wonderful memory.
Now, having not ran a 5k without stopping before April 2024 and having only just completed my first 10k, it’s safe to say running is pretty new to me! I will be kick starting my fundraising journey (and training!) by running a half marathon in Richmond London on 27th October but have spikeball tournaments, clothes swaps, come dine with me events and much more up my sleeve…
Any donations, however small, are SO appreciated.
lots of love
Harriet
