Mhor 84 Half Marathon · 9 June 2024

Formed in 1988, CCST is an entirely voluntary charity. Its 'Therapet' service involves registered dogs and their owners visiting hospitals, nursing homes, schools and other institutions on a regular basis to provide ‘pet therapy’, restore confidence and bring happiness to everyone they encounter.

Story

On June 9th I will be running my first ever half marathon for a charity that means a lot to my family.

I realise there are many more important causes in the world at present, but if anyone wanted to support this wonderful charity to help others like us, it would mean a lot.

As many of you will already know, there is very little health and education provision for children with autism.

Through my role as a GP and as a parent of a child with autism I am seeing the impact that the lack of support in our country is having on some of our children and their families.

Thankfully, there are some wonderful charities out there.

Therapet is one of these charities.

Our wonderful son had a significant dog phobia which is very common in autistic individuals. The kindness and patience demonstrated by this charity not only helped my son to manage his fears but also provided us with support on our journey.

We cannot thank them enough.

Therapet also do wonderful work with individuals suffering from loneliness and provide therapy dogs for schools.

Thank you for taking the time to read this and many thanks to those who are able to donate ❤️
