We are taking on Race the Sun Lake District Coniston Off-Road for Action Medical Research for Children

Race the Sun Lake District Coniston Off-Road 2025 · 17 May 2025 ·
I'm a part of a team taking on the Race the Sun challenge in the Lake District at Coniston for the children's charity Action Medical Research.
In May we will be setting off at sunrise to gravel & mountain bike 25 miles, hike 5.5miles of hill walking up Old Man of Coniston, and paddle 3 miles in a Canoe around a challenging course in a race against the sun.
This all sounds easy right? Except... One of our team has recently sustained a major ankle injury resulting in 3 large plates and 18 screws been fitted to their ankle. One person has had a heart attack previously, Another has had spinal surgery twice and suffered multiple sports injuries over the years. Our final team member the youngest will be likely carrying us over the line and is yet to purchase a bike for the event!
We are doing this in aid of a children's charity, Action Medical Research. They have spent over 70 years funding vital research to help defeat the diseases that devastate the lives of sick and disabled babies, children, and young people.
By supporting our team you will be helping to find ways to reduce premature birth, to support children facing a lifetime of challenges caused by disabilities, and to develop cutting-edge therapies for rare and incurable diseases.
Thank you so much for your support.
