Harriet's fundraiser for Mindstep Foundation

Harriet Young is raising money for Mindstep Foundation

Team: Edinburgh Marathon Team for Mindstep Foundation

Edinburgh Marathon 2026 · 24 May 2026 ·

Mindstep was founded in memory of Max Davies who died by suicide at 22 years old in 2018. The charity funds mental health and suicide prevention research, awareness and support. We support vital research at the University of Glasgow, deliver ASIST courses and fund the training of counsellors.

Story

On 24th May a few of us will be running the Edinburgh marathon in aid of Mindstep Foundation, funding research into the causes of suicide and supporting those who have been bereaved by or are at risk of suicide. Please read on to learn more about Mindstep and the amazing work that any donations will support.

Any donation will make a huge difference. Thank you so much for your support!

A note from Mindstep Foundation: We are incredibly grateful to our Mindstep Edinburgh Marathon Team! As a small charity, we rely on the dedication of our fundraisers and everyone who champions their efforts.

Mindstep was founded in 2019 following the tragic loss of our Max to suicide at just 22 years old. Our aim as his family is to do what we can to prevent others from experiencing the same heartbreak.

By supporting the team, you are helping Mindstep prevent suicide through funding vital research at the University of Glasgow, so that we can find out more about why people die by suicide and what we can do to prevent it. You’re also supporting the training of counsellors to provide subsidised therapy and the delivery of suicide prevention training to individuals and organisations.

Every donation makes a real difference and is deeply appreciated by all of us at Mindstep.
