This summer a group of GSAL students are visiting Malawi, known as “the warm heart of Africa.” The aim of this expedition is to generate a greater understanding of the people, culture, geography, ecology and challenges of a developing country. The school has a long-running partnership with the Zikomo Trust, established over 35 years ago. The Zikomo Trust works closely with a number of partners in Malawi, in areas such as education, healthcare, food and nutrition, and sport. Through fundraising, with each student set a minimum target of £250, we are hoping to make a small but impactful difference to the lives of the people that we will be fortunate enough to visit during the expedition. All funds raised here will help support schools, orphanages and a rural hospital.
