Harriot's fundraiser for Neuroblastoma UK

Harriot Cullen is raising money for Neuroblastoma UK

London Marathon 2026 · 26 April 2026 ·

Every week in the UK, around two families are told their child has neuroblastoma, a rare childhood cancer. We fund leading research projects to deliver new, effective and kinder treatments for children with neuroblastoma. With your help we can save more young lives.

Story

💙 Our Brave Boy, Ren 💙

On the 19th of December 2024, our world changed forever. Our little boy, Ren, went into Birmingham Children’s Hospital (BCH) for what was meant to be a small procedure. During that operation, the surgeon discovered a tumour.

We were faced with words no parent should ever hear: “It’s likely cancer.” Further tests confirmed our worst fears. Just after the New Year, we were told Ren has neuroblastoma – a childhood cancer that mostly affects children under 5.

Ren’s tumour was too large to remove with surgery at first, so he bravely endured 6 months of chemotherapy. In August, he underwent major surgery to remove the tumour. Our resilient, strong, funny little boy bounced back in ways that amazed us all. Ren is now in remission.

He will be closely monitored with scans every 3 months, but right now, he is smiling and laughing just as he always has.

Why We’re Fundraising

Ren’s journey has opened our eyes to the urgent need for more research and support for children with cancer.

🎗️Around 1,900 children are diagnosed with cancer in the UK every year

🎗️On average one in every 500 children will develop cancer by age 14

🎗️Neuroblastoma affects about 100 children each year, mostly under the age of 5.

🎗️For high-risk cases, only around 50% survive five years after diagnosis.

🎗️Yet, despite this need, less than 4% of UK cancer research funding goes to projects focused on children.

Most of the progress in childhood cancer treatment has been funded by charities and fundraising – not government. That means every donation, every mile run, and every event really does make a difference.

Our Mission

Ren’s dad, Eddie, will be running the London Marathon 2026 in his honour.

We want to raise funds, spread awareness, and give hope to families who are still facing the devastating words “your child has cancer.”

Thank You

We are so grateful to everyone who has supported us through this journey. Your kindness and generosity mean more than words can say. Together, we can make sure that children like Ren have the chance to live long, healthy, happy lives.

💙 Thank you for being part of Ren’s story.

Lots of love, Harriot, Eddie & Ren xxx
