Established in 1981, the Newman Holiday Trust began by running a one week summer holiday for children with special needs. The Trust now provides holidays for about 130 children with special needs aged four to sixteen each year, in various locations around the UK. Due to the high level of skilled care they require or financial circumstances, the children selected for these breaks would not otherwise receive a holiday. The holidays provide a range of fun activities in a safe and supportive environment and use a care ration of one helper to one child at all times. The Trust is an entirely voluntary organization and owes its success to over 200 people who dedicate their free time to helping these children. This voluntary structure ensures that every penny raised goes directly towards a child's holiday.

Story

The Newman Holiday Trust organises a week away for children (5-16 years old). Due to their special needs and personal circumstances, the children selected for these breaks would not otherwise receive a holiday. The holidays provide a range of fun activities in a safe and supported environment and use a care ratio of one helper to one child at all times.

Cameron volunteered last year and saw the impact that the Newman Trust has first hand. The children benefit hugely from a week of making friends and enjoying themselves, with activities including horse riding, trips to theme parks, arts & crafts, a talent show, and more! This will be Harrison's first time and he is excited to take part.

We would be very grateful if you are able to donate some money to sponsor a child's place - every bit goes a long way!
