Story
On October 11th, I’ll be running the Royal Parks Half Marathon in support of Dementia UK — a cause that means a lot to me personally.
I’m doing this in memory of my grandma, who sadly passed away with dementia. Watching someone you love slowly lose pieces of themselves is incredibly hard, and it’s something no family is ever truly prepared for. Dementia affects not only the person living with it, but everyone around them.
By taking on this half marathon, I want to help raise money so more families can get the support, care, and specialist help they need through Dementia UK. Every donation, no matter the size, will go towards helping people facing this devastating illness and supporting the amazing work the charity does every day.
Training for 13.1 miles will definitely be a challenge, but it’s nothing compared to what families living with dementia go through. I’d really appreciate any support, donations, or shares to help me reach my fundraising goal and honour my grandma’s memory.
