Story
Hello lovely people!
I will be running the Sheffield Half Marathon on Sunday 29th March 2026 (and Hackney Half Marathon on 17th May 2026), in aid of Haven, to raise money to make a difference to the lives of children affected by domestic abuse. Both a cause and a city very close to my heart.
In Sheffield, it's estimated that over 23,000 children are living in households where domestic abuse is present, which can have a profound, long lasting impact on their lives.
Haven is a small charity that strongly believes that all children should be safe, supported and empowered and wants to break down barriers, intervene early, and provide the necessary support guided by a trauma informed and child-centred approach.
Just a sense of what your extremely kind and generous donations may be able to provide affected children and young people:
£50 will provide a 1:1 therapeutic session with a specialist practitioner
£30 will buy a child a 'Haven Welcome Pack' and games/stationary for them to use in their support sessions
£20 will pay for a child to attend a fun activity day with their family, creating positive memories
£10 will buy a child a worry monster or other wellbeing items to support their recovery
£5 will pay for the travel costs for a child to attend a session
I had the pleasure of running for the same charity last year, and was genuinely blown away by people's generosity. I felt compelled to do the same again.
Thank you x
