Harrison's fundraiser for Haven House Project

Harrison Carter is raising money for Haven House Project

Sheffield Mutual Sheffield Half Marathon 2026 · 29 March 2026 ·

Haven (Sheffield) is an independent charity providing specialist services for children affected by domestic abuse. We centre and champion children, validate their experiences and provide the tools to deal with difficult things. So they feel safe, supported and empowered to shape their own future.

Story

Hello lovely people!

I will be running the Sheffield Half Marathon on Sunday 29th March 2026 (and Hackney Half Marathon on 17th May 2026), in aid of Haven, to raise money to make a difference to the lives of children affected by domestic abuse. Both a cause and a city very close to my heart.

In Sheffield, it's estimated that over 23,000 children are living in households where domestic abuse is present, which can have a profound, long lasting impact on their lives.

Haven is a small charity that strongly believes that all children should be safe, supported and empowered and wants to break down barriers, intervene early, and provide the necessary support guided by a trauma informed and child-centred approach.

Just a sense of what your extremely kind and generous donations may be able to provide affected children and young people:

 £50 will provide a 1:1 therapeutic session with a specialist practitioner

 £30 will buy a child a 'Haven Welcome Pack' and games/stationary for them to use in their support sessions

 £20 will pay for a child to attend a fun activity day with their family, creating positive memories

 £10 will buy a child a worry monster or other wellbeing items to support their recovery

 £5 will pay for the travel costs for a child to attend a session

I had the pleasure of running for the same charity last year, and was genuinely blown away by people's generosity. I felt compelled to do the same again.

Thank you x
