Story
Earlier this year, I unexpectedly lost my dear uncle to liver cancer. He meant the world to me and my family, and was such a kind and loving man who we miss so dearly.
Throughout his time in Gloucester Royal hospital the care he received from the staff was nothing short of exceptional. Their compassionate and professional care brought comfort not only to him in his final weeks, but also to our whole family during an unimaginably difficult time.
In his memory, and alongside some close colleagues, I’m running 10km hoping to raise £150 for the Cheltenham and Gloucester Hospitals Charity, who are working to build a world class cancer centre to support patients and families facing this disease in the future.
While 10km isn’t a huge challenge, this run is a small way for me to say thank you to the amazing teams who gave my uncle the care he deserved, and hopefully to help ensure others receive the same in future.
Any support you can give, big or small, would mean the world. Thank you. 💙
